Jim, as a recovering alcoholic who never drank coffee or espresso until I got sober, I know that gene. and it seems it is still going strong in me. I have made the progression faster though. In less than a year I have gone from steam toy to low end pump and now I gotta upgrade the whole mess again. I loved you story.
I can so relate to that defective gene thing! My husband gave me the go ahead to buy a machine and I've spent a month figuring out which one to buy (and still have not ordered). Thanks for the laugh!!
