Thanks for taking the time for all the details @ SCAA. This was Great. I'm trying to make it to Atlantic City this summer to Coffee Fest....
Agree totally on the Mazzer Mini pricing issue. While it is expensive, it is by far the best home grinder...and it WILL last a lifetime! (very economical if you figure out that you can get 10 yrs of service or more out of this product. You might need 2 Rocky's for the same period of time...not that's expensive)
Need to make sure that this product remains profitable for MAZZER in the Marketplace. Profitability and competition leads to better innovations!

It's clear from your remarks that the Italians still just don't "get it". They are more concerned about keeping prices up than they are about volume. Mazzer has cult hit grinder - what to do about it - cancel it! Silvia owners need an upgrade path - Fuggedaboutit - a $1200 machine would undermine the S24.

Mark - Reading your SCAA journal helps me re-live the fun and excitement of the conference. Thank you! I very much enjoyed your play-by-play accounts of the Barista competition, as I was not able to watch any of the events this year: I was very busy with Roasters Guild events. However, I will be sure to free up some time in my schedule for Atlanta to witness all the excitement.

Emma! Good to see you here! :) (I promise, that video of your various body parts will not make it to the article, but Chris Davidson has offered money for it - he's in love :)
Day three should be up this weekend. I was going to let Jeanette post her thing first, but we don't have the photos scanned yet. My Day Three and Wrapup report will go online, then Jeanette's "take" from the show as a coffee outsider...
