I trust that you will bring to "R&R" a new, more philosophical perspective, honed by hours of the Zen experience of hand-pulling espresso. Perhaps you could gain an even more retrospective view by adding a hand grinder to your Cremina experience.
Jesting aside, your articles were the first I read on Coffeegeek, and they remain by far the most memorable. I for one am always interested in reading more.
I remember Ben Franklin writing in his autobiography that whenever he wanted to express his opinion he always prefaced it by saying "In my opinion..."

Mark The specialty coffee industry is still very young and understandably juvenile at times. And with that comes the shortcomings I often hear speak of. It's been a bit of a shock to me too coming from older and more established ag. specialty commodities. The good thing is it will grow up and eventually group wisdom's will form. Paranoias will lighten. The true purpose and value of education, promotion and standards will become clearer. Hell your taste buds might change enough to find an so espresso you will like. The less we ALL rant and rave the longer it all will take. Go for it! I promise you will not regret it in the future. Ed
Well, have a look at the latest article, just posted. It's gonna get more hairy down the road, I think.
and damnit, I'm fed up with La Marzocco double baskets - if you look back at my posting history on alt.coffee, back in the 1990s, those baskets were nirvana. Now they're relegated to sitting in a covered bin, in the back of the espresso room.

By the way... I just wanted to say (don't stop talking though folks!), I really, really appreciate all the feedback here and via email. It's so cool too to see some people who don't normally post much voice their opinion.
You folks have energized me, in a lot of ways. I will try my best not to let things squander again.
Thanks! And looking forward to more comments and discussion.
