When circumstances led to the first-ever Argentinean National Barista Champion withdrawing from the World Barista Championship, Federico Cabrera found himself with two weeks to prepare for Tokyo. This is his remarkable story.

Grande Fede,
Hope to see you in the future here in coffeegeek with more articles. That was some hectic race against the clock and adversity. ˇVAMOS ARGENTINA! Lástima que estuvistes solo ojalá cambien las cosas. Thanks for representing Argentina in Tokyo. Hopefully word gets out in Argentina. Being from Buenos Aires i've had some great coffee(espresso, capuccinos) in Buenos Aires but the stuff you get at the stores is bad. Where do you have your coffee shop in Argentina?

I will try to write more articles, but I`m just a newbie in the coffee world. I did my best, but it wasn`t enough in such a high level of professionalism ... I`m sure Argentine will make a better presentation next year in Copenhagen.
In Buenos Aires, the best place to buy roasted coffee is Establecimiento General de Cafe, but it`s very expensive and sometimes their roasted beans aren`t very fresh ... the other option is Chicco D`Oro or Illy.-
