Good enough for me. I'd mainly use it to check the temp of the upper chamber of my vacpot before adding the coffee.

The turkish coffee set in your list looks fantastic as a Christmas gift for a good friend of mine but I'm in Vancouver and I'm afraid if I order from Amazon it would not arrive before Christmas.  Is there a good store in the Vancouver area where I can find something similar?

Just so I don't look like a late shopper... I already bought my friend a gift but only found out yesterday that she used to read coffee grounds and no longer has the tools to brew turkish coffee.

Can anyone comment on their experience using the Breville ikon 600XL Multipurpose Scale to measure temperature? How fast & accurate is the temp reading with the probe?

Great list, BTW.

I guess this is a good list if you are an american. A little more detail and a link to Canadian sources would more suit my tastes. You call the H2O kettle a $60 item, when in fact it is a $100 dollar item in Canada.

I give you 2/10 Mark, well below your standard I'm afraid.

Since about 65% of our site traffic is US based, thats what the list focused on.

In fact, Canada isn't even 2nd or 3rd place on this site for visits any longer (hasn't been for several years) - Australia's second, UK (surprisingly!!!) is 3rd, Canada is 4th with only 4.8% of visitors.

That's why the list is US products; if I were going to do a list for other countries, it'd make more sense to do Australia before doing Canadian based links.

Sorry to disappoint, though.

Mark

Can Mark or anyone recommend a replacement for the Breville scale that falls under $100?  I found a few on OE made by Escali but that's it.  I also found one on CG's youtube video by Jennings (CJ-600?).  I'd like one for measuring beans before the grind.  Also, it be nice if it had a timer...but not necessary.

I don't have a replacement idea, but be on lookout for the Breville scale in closeout stores like TJ Maxx.  I was returning a Christmas gift there a couple of days ago, and when I took a look around, there was one of these Breville scales siting all alone for $25.  I couldn't believe my luck.  It's a huge improvement over the Salter aquatronic I was using.  I picked up a Bialetti SS moka pot for $15 while I was there too.

Got my new Aeropress and it is the cleanest coffee I have ever had.  It is NOT a shot of espresso like some will tell you.  But, if you are interested in learning how to taste the nuanced flavors in each coffee roast you choose to buy the Aeropress is a great tool to train the pallet:)
