Hey, Mike. Great column. I'm an expat in Taiwan facing a decision between tea and coffee. Tea is as prevalent in Taiwan as anyone can imagine, but there is great coffee here as well. My desire to connect with the Taiwanese on a deeper level will certainly lead to further tea exploration. Truth is, I love coffee. Perhaps the problem is that I too have not really tried tea. So here is the tension: invest $1,000 in an espresso system or get some hot water and a unique, Taiwanese tea set? As a tea lover turned coffee lover, what do you find yourself brewing on a regular basis?

Great article Mike!
Long time lurker posting because of your article. I just had to say, coffee and tea are NOT exclusive. Actually I drink more puerh tea than coffee in recent years. Keep up the great writing!

I'm a tea & coffee fan. And like owl I'm a coffee in the morning tea in the afternoon type of guy. I don't really go for any of those fancy teas though, I've grown up on Irish tea and its the only show in town :)
