Anybody else trying adding some ice to the brew chamber of hot water _before_ pressing? This cools the coffee and should stop/retard extraction during the press phase as the ice melts.
I have trouble with consistent pressing time takes and sometimes overextract because of it. So I've have found adding ice before pressing helps improve my consistency.
I've used this method with a lot of success at our farmers market stand this year. We were cold brewing the regular iced coffee, but we're using the aeropress for the decaf iced coffee. The feedback was almost always instantaneous and positive. We got a groupie like following of decaf iced coffee drinkers. Odd thing, normally.
until now the only time I drink iced coffee is if I get busy working and my cup gets cold. I am going out to buy a cold press tomorrow and try this new way out.
