Espresso Cups Vs. Cups Vs. Cups!

This time around, we take a detailed look at a subject near and dear to me - espresso cups and what makes them great. Cups from Illy, Tognana, Francis! Francis! and Saeco are checked out.

Subject: Beyond espresso cups

Hi Mark......
Great review. I didn't think there was so much to learn. My only espresso cups are flat bottomed. And the local cafe serves espresso in flat bottomed cups as well.
Looks like more 'coffee assessories' are in my future.

So, who's the winner in Cappuccino cups? I would imagine that there is much to learn about these too? Sounds like material for another article.

P.S. Any chance in a followup to this article with a 'table' summary of results, with some relative ranking of attributes (ie: good/better/best)? So I could easily pick out thickest walls, best handle, and shot volume indicators on the inside, at a single glance??

Thanks again for the education.

Hi Eddie.

I can't modify this review, but I can certainly try to do something like this for future reviews... maybe a side by side table of comparable results for various products, stacking them up against the product getting the full review treatment. My wheels are already spinning about ideas on how to do this for the next three items going up - a Bodum eSantos, Patrick's balance brewers, and the Innova grinders.

Re cappa cups. I'll probably do a review of those down the road, but I need to organize with a few suppliers to get a good range. I may do more cups for that review, but a bit less info per cup.
