I don’t really care for SBUX’s coffee anymore (once in awhile,  I 'll get a grende-iced-skim-Mocha).  However, I’ve to admit that SBUX introduced me to the espresso world, and I thank them for that.

There is a news report from L.A. Times mentioned about many SBUX’s stores in S.F. got vandalized .  It is sad to see that there are various “groups” of people proclaim themselves as righteous, and use it as their “only” reason to vandalize or to disrupt any successful corporations or anything for that matter, whom they see as “Monsters”.

I don’t understand why those people are so antipathetic.  What is the reason behind their hatreds?  Those “righteous” people would go out of their way to cause inconvenience of others, breaking the laws, and what do they get out of it?

I am not trying to get a huge debate out of this, simply, reflecting my thoughts on this news.

This was (and is) discussed to a great extent on alt.coffee.  My view on the subject is that there are peaceful demonstrations and there are demonstrations that in one way or another violate someones property... ie the ELF "message" here in San Diego.

The vandals in San Fransisco not only caused problems for *$ but also every customer that frequents them.

The vandals in San Diego caused problems for the contractors and owners of the apartment complex, but they also caused major problems for all the families that were waiting to move into these homes.

Both demonstrations disgust me, ignorance and arrogance are poor combinations... :-(
