I'm looking for a new source of good quality Vietnamese coffee (roasted bean ready to grind). Can someone recommend a US source please?
I had a great source for good quality (and low cost) Vietnamese coffee from an Atlanta company called Blue Cloud Coffee. This company, however, seems to have completely fallen off the face of the earth. All of their phones are disconnected, their usually busy E-Bay site is empty and their web site is offline. What's strange is they had just opened a brand new Coffee Shop in Atlanta in March 2003 and now even that phone number is disconnected.
Suggestions for source anyone? Also, does anyone know what happened to Blue Cloud?

I was always hesitant to order from Blue Cloud because I'd never been able to find any feedback about the quality of their coffee. Too bad that they're3 gone now that I find out their coffee might have been decent! The Vietnamese restaurant that I frequent most often has recently started using Trung Nguyen coffee. I think it's pretty good but it is a bit pricey and worse.... it appears to be marketed in preground only at least here in the US.
I've decided to try making own home roasted and blend variety to use for iced coffee with condensed milk. In lieu of Vietnbamese beans, I plan to try one part Uganda Nanga Farms Robusta, one part Uganda Budisi, one part Monsooned Malabar and one part pre-roasted ground chicory. Many US Vietnamese restaurants use Cafe du Monde coffee from New Orleans LA. It's a dark roast blend with chicory added in. I'm figuring that I can probably improve on it by roasting and blending my own. Even if you don't do your own roasting, you might try this by going to a good local microroaster and getting small amounts of pre-roasted beans to belnd yourself. The chicory is available at Sweet Maria's

Hello Woo,
I visited your web site yesterday, and what struck me was the fact that to access what may be a larger (?) section of the web site was the fact that you have to be a member to sign in. Interesting, though I think that would turn many away.
We also recently went through a reorganiztion as well as a relocation of our business. Fortunately, we were able to continue our sales to our customers without interruption and to my knowledge did not turn away one unhappy customer. I think it is important to kep in mind that there is always competition out there, and if all of your attention is not focused on the constant care of your customers, a business can fade quickly. I'm sure having been on eBay for a while you are aware of this.
Also, what strikes me is how Blue Cloud can sell coffee for $0.01 a pound. As I remember, coffee is a commodity, and prices are controlled by the market. Far be it from me to bash free enterprise, but when one seller (company) imports and sells a product below the market price (at an unfair level), of what that product is sold for in the originating country, according to international law, that is considered dumping. But then again, eBay is generally a dumping ground so to speak anyway.
Finally, please remember that this forum is for conversation and ideas, not promoting your products. I learned that the hard way when I first started here.
Anyway, good luck with your venture, I'm sure you have a lot of hard work ahead of you. The market in this country is opening up to Vietnamese coffee, and there is a lot of potential out there.
