I have long been in search of some tools and/or exercises to aid in precise flavor perception and personal tongue mapping.  Any good suggestions out there?  I do an awful lot of cupping, and that has helped, but I feel like others are either making stuff up or are on a different level of ability to perceive flavors.

I believe that someone sells a kit containing an assortment of vials containing the flavors that can be encountered in coffee cupping.

I think it is fairly expensive, but I hope to get the kit someday.

Here it is:  http://www.scaa.org/shop/products_catalog.asp?category=LENEZ

The price is even more over the top than I had thought.

The Le Nez du Cafe is a good tool.  However it is an aroma perception tool, not a flavor perception tool per se.  They are certainly linked, but not exactly the same.  Thanks.
