Discover this great project in the L.A. area with partners such as Handsome Roaster The Rose City Coffee project entails the construction of a portable coffee bar to craft and teach the art of coffee to homeless youth in Pasadena.
At Rose City Coffee it is our vision to see the lives of homeless and transitional aged youth change through the communal craft of coffee. We see young people, who have not been given the same chances as you and others, spending time with our team to learn the trade and craft of 3rd wave coffee. We also see a staff committed to caring for our young baristas; instilling in them a passion for crafting the perfect cup of coffee. We also envision a place where community flourishes and people are given space and support to dream of new ways of transforming our local community.

There's something similar to this where I live, in Evanston IL, Curt's Cafe. I try to stop in whenever I can, because it's a good cause, the service is excellent and I love talking coffee with the guys behind the counter. Mondays morning is my favorite time to stop in, because Uncommon Grounds, a Saugatuck, MI roaster, drops off a batch of fresh roasted coffee. Take care!
