I found several Intelligentsia coffees for sale on Amazon - plus free shipping for orders over $25. Seems like 12 oz packs of whole bean and ground. Has anyone bought Intell. via Amazon? Is the vendor Intelligentsia or a rogue wholesale buyer with stale coffee?

I checked some customer reviews---most complained the beans were stale or old and won't purchase from Amazon again BUT will go back to their usual, buying directly from Intelligentsia. A few thought it was good coffee. Along with whole bean there were ground offerings. I looked up sellers other than Amazon---one seller stated a Nov 2012 roast date. Yet another stated theirs good til July 2013 (did not use terms Best By or EXP). GEEZ, that brought back my experience seeing Intelligentsia in our local Fresh Market last month (March)---bags with January roast dates.

I was puzzled by some obvious Intelligentsia customers actually buying their usual stuff from Amazon. Maybe saving a little $ was enticing but were not considering the time factor.

I would have no clue why they would bother. They're big, established, have a well established website, and are available at a lot of other locations.

I'd give it a pass

Thanks for the response. I wonder just Who is selling the stuff on Amazon? And does Intell. sanction it? I'll continue to pay for shipping - unless the rumored Intelligentsia shop opens in oh-so-precious Chelsea (NYC) - and sells fresh beans.
