I'm new to coffee drinking...so forgive me if this seems like a stupid question!

What is a good thing to eat with a good cup O' joe?

I'm not into sweets- and, IMO, something sweet, like a doughnut would overpower the coffee and negate the purpose of having good coffee.

What do some of yous(sic) guys eat (if anything) with your coffee?

I hate how dry wheat beer is. Maybe it'll go well next to coffee?

How about Kenya with Chocolate.

Yirgacheffe with a bowl of fruit.

La Minita to balance out spice with its seamlessness.

Ahhh!.....if I can figure out how to make a nice croissant out of whole wheat flour, we may have something!

Led: Not my...err...uhh..."cup of tea". (I think I got diabetes just by reading your post! :)  )

SL28ave:
I don't know what half of those things are! (I think I got a handle on the fruit part...) :)

How about a bagel & cream cheese?

Life's too short for bad coffee.

When it comes to finding out what's in a croissant, you'll find that ignorance is bliss, and you're better off not knowing what's in one :-)

I used to make them--from scratch, rolling the layers by hand--at a French bakery.  And lemme tell you--till you've tried a real one, you haven't tried one ;)  Even though i know what's in them I can't stop.

I don't think there's some nifty thing that goes with coffee other than things you'd ordinarily think of (not-too-sweet biscotti, most other carbs, etc etc etc) the way that there is with certain wines.

Oh! My mouth is watering! Unfortunately, one can't get decent bagels in the very rural area where I live. (O-K...so there was ONE good thing about New York....as I finally see)

Why didn't I think of that? I'm Italian! Sounds like a plan!

Thanks, everyone....keep'em coming.....
