Hi Folks, not trying to nag, but have you given a little bit to CoffeeKids yet?

I haven't seen much discussion surrounding this topic, but I honestly think we should all try to pony up a little bit this holiday season.  $5, $10, it doesn't really matter, just something.  Let's have a show of support for this site if nothing more.  We all get a lot out of Coffeegeek, and Mark doesn't ask for anything in return, other than once a year making a small donation to Coffeekids.  Most of us spend a lot of money on coffee equipment, so lets dig a little deeper and make a contribution.  I know many of us have given already, but I just wanted to toss this out there for those who maybe haven't yet.

Don't forget, but when you give money, it is also matched by the corporate sponsers, dollar for dollar, up to the first $500 given.  Just be sure to donate through the CoffeeGeek link.  "Coffee Kids Donations"

It's for a great cause, and I know that it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling to help others out, especially those who are growing the raw materials for something I love and care about so much.  It isn't just a Guatemalan Antigua, it's a Guatemalan Antigua picked by a 13 year old girl named Maria who would like to be able to go to school, and folks, we can help her do that.

So my fellow CoffeeGeeks, lets give.  Let's give till it hurts a little bit.  Cause you how sometimes when something hurts, it sort of feels good at the same time?  This is one of those times.

Ok, I'm done nagging :-)

Chris

Chris is right. For all the ballyhoo we go through seeking perfection in a cup or mug, there is not one of us who should not stop for just a moment and realize that we are lucky enough to be pursuing an affluent hobby instead of trying to sustain our basic life needs.

So c'mon fellow coffeegeeks, we don't bat an eye at spending $$ on a superb beans and shiny tampers, so let's not bat an eye at donating $$ to help our superb coffee growing community.

And I see 6 sponsors on the coffee kids site, so your donation becomes 7 times your donation, boo-ya!

Does anyone know up till what date we can donate and have our donation matched?  Can we still donate after Christmas and have it matched?

Bump

Hoped for a little more discussion, or at least people chiming in.

Hey Mark, how are the donations going?

I posted a challenge to raise money for CoffeeKids here.  So far nobody's replied.  I'm going to do the cafe thing at my house again this Friday and see if I can raise some more.  Twenty bucks is not too hard to beat, people!
