What a bummer.  The whole family planned on going until my older son's soccer team decided to participate in a tournament.

He toured Greenwell farms and two others (stayed in a B&B on one of the farms) and brought me back 5 pounds of Greenwell Extra Fancy, and 5 pounds of peaberry from one of the other farms.

Now, I usually drink espresso and was wondering how to roast these beans, what to blend them with etc.

There is one consolation to my not getting to go stomping through coffee farms.  My Hottop arrived a few days ago and I've done three roasts.  What a breeze.  Actually the first roast I kind of blew because I was so fascinated to actually hearing distinct second cracks that I got mesmerized and let it go slightly too long.  The other roasts are perfect.

So, I need a little advice and a little consolation for having missed a trip to my favorite island.

Papua New Guinea. Just like Kona, but usually better. Roast a batch and twit hubbie about what he's been missing ;)
