Unless the shipping is killing you, why look for others? Some of the best advice I received several years ago (on alt.coffee) was to stick with Sweetmarias until: a) I could do my own Tom-like cupping notes, or b) I was roasting several pounds a week.
I find it very informative to roast and brew and then go back and compare my findings with Tom's cupping notes... and I don't know of any other sellers that provide the depth of information that Tom does.
Another site that gives a reasonable amount of green bean info is Coffeebean Corral. I ordered six 1/2 pound samplers to experiment with blending; one of them seemed old and tired, but the others were fine.
BTW, if you do start roasting large quantities, check out Green Coffee Co-op. It's a little confusing at first and timing is important, but there are great beans at great prices with lots of cupping notes and other help.

I could not agree more, I always look for new green vendors because shipping from sweet marias to new york can get expensive
But its like the liqour store, there are a ton around here, but its hard to find the one that really nows what they are talking about and has annotations on all there wine offerings and leaves the sub par wine for the other stores to carry. I think that alone is the reason I spend the extra money on shipping for sweet marias
