I wanted to get a sense of where people are buying their green beans from, online. Please list your top 3 online sources of green beans, in order of preference.

I can't list three but I must recommend Sweet Maria's. I've not been tempted to shop around I'm so satisfied with their service and product. Great cupping notes, current crop, and a great website. You can pick up from the warehouse in Otown since I assume you're near by. I did chance to get a couple of pounds of great "wild forrest" Ethiopian greens from Our Coffee Barn when I ordered my Espro convex tamper. Great coffee with much cherry (no cupping notes to tell me either...).
I also buy quite a bit of my coffee lately from Coffee Bean Corral. They have decent prices and great selection.
And there's a local guy that has great coffees, www.hopsoncoffee.com (try the Costa Rica El Conquistador!). Another local outfit for us in Houston is R. Dalton . They have great prices and some excellent latin coffees.
I have also gotten great product from Bald Mountain Coffee, but there is very little description.
Sweet Maria's is a staple for home roasters, they have great descriptive info and you can always rely on the quality

Yes, I see that Sweet Marias has a large selection of green beans.
From what I understand is that green (if kept at a cool temp and out of direct sunlight) can keep indefinitely...
Over at Greenwell Farms on Kona (you can buy green Kona here also), Tommy says that keeping his green in a special humidity controlled room "ages" the coffee and adds subtle nuances. Has anyone else heard this?

Hi I live within driving distance ( 100 miles) and this small place has only premium greens. I was able to go backstage and look around. the business is ~20 years old but the original name was sold to a major corp. a few years ago. So now it is an internet supplier.. U-roast-em I have purchased from some of the other major players mentioned above. All Good richard

I buy most of my beans from The Captain's Coffee or the green bean co-op. The Captain's coffee has a decent selection, cupping notes, and flat $5 UPS shipping. They're nice people to do business with. The co-op prices are tough to beat but it's catch as catch can as to what's available. I've never had a bad batch from either.
