We just had central a.c. installed in our house about three weeks ago. I finally had a chance to do a quick hd/db roast one evening after work last week. When the beans hit 2nd crack, I dump them into a wire mesh basket (I think it's intended purpose is for frying - I bought it at a restaurant supply store) and dump the beans back and forth between that and a pan. It usually takes about five minutes for the beans to cool - not completely, but warm to the touch. It's especially difficult to cool them efficiently when the outide temperature is about 90F.
Well, the other evening as I dumped the beans into the basket, the a.c. unit was running, so I walked over and held the basket over the compressor fan and voila! (not walla) The beans were completely cool in about sixty seconds (~ 1/2 a pound).
I joked with my wife that we spent $13k so I could cool my roasted coffe more efficiently.

I can't think of money better spent! Also, a good selling point if you ever wish to list your home in the future.
Just a quick question: Your fan doesn't shoot out water also like all window type air conditioners, does it? If so you may wish to check into that issue.

Walla is a term used in theater, radio, and television to describe the sound effects from a group of people mumuring in the background...often know as the "walla group."
