I was given a few pounds of Tanzanian Peaberry for my birthday. I used a standard profile on the iRoast and found it bland (3min at 350, 3min at 400, 2 min at 450 - brings it shy of 2C). Does anyone have any recommended profiles for this bean, or is it normally bland?
I usually prefer higher acidity in my coffee - ie. Sulawesi is my standard favorite.

I prefer Tanzian Peaberry at a medium French Roast.  The end results are midly sweet
winey...I tried various light - medium roasts with the bean (right around 1st crack - thats what every website suggested), but it just didn't have enough body for me.  I had watery results in my french press...the bean just wouldn't steep right...

This batch was from u-roast-em.com - may have been a bad crop?

I however only like a small amount of acidity.  If I were you, i'd try a light roast right at end of first crack, and a medium french roast a little into second crack  -- and go from there based on what you like better.

Did you let your roast rest 24 hours?

I'm never sure what those iRoast profile numbers mean (ie; what the beans are actually doing when) but if I add up your times I get a total of 8 minutes which seems to be zippity quick for just shy of second crack.  At what time did first crack start? I would slow things down a bit to get to the same roast level. Try for at least 3 minutes from start of first crack until end of roast. Are the beans from a reputable source?
