I've only roasted one batch, the sheer loudness of the cooling cycle scared me into thinking something is wrong with this unit. As for the one roast, I felt it took longer to get to the first and second cracks. By several minutes. It was a Komodo blend decaf. I generally roast to 30 seconds past the second crack as that seemed idea for the decafs I gravitate to (Indonesian).

To the original poster, how loud is the cooling cycle on yours? Loud enough for you to need to turn the TV up in an adjoining room?

I just wanted to say it's nice to see Z&D back in the forum stream. I'm an IR2 guy now, but still have fond memories of my first roaster, the Z&D.
