Hi, I just picked up a popcorn popper to try out while I'm here in Portland. None of the local roasters seem to want to sell me green beans, does anybody know where to get some locally?

Keep trying the roasters. There should be someone. Another option is to check out Ethiopian markets which often have Sidamo or something from the old country.

I got 1/2 lb of ethiopian and 1/4 lb sumatran from Hawthorne coffee supply. Not especially cheap and I couldn't get the beans to roast evenly - some dark, some light.
I then found some brazilian at the european market on Hawthorne - $4.5 a pound. They're nothing special but the price is ok and they roasted evenly in the popper.
