Hi, I just picked up a popcorn popper to try out while I'm here in Portland.
None of the local roasters seem to want to sell me green beans, does anybody know where to get some locally?

Keep trying the roasters.  There should be someone.  Another option is to check out Ethiopian markets which often have Sidamo or something from the old country.

Cuba, if you find out where to get some, please let me know. As much as I love Sweet Maria's, it would be awesome to not have to pay for shipping ;)

I have heard that Stumptown Coffee will sell you green beans.  They are in Portland  and you may want to give them a call.

Still no luck.

Whole foods on W and E Burnside no longer sell them.

Stumptown don't.
Blue gardenia don't.
Extracto don't.

I think perhaps the coffee supply place on Hawthorne do, I'll give them a try when i get the chance.

I got 1/2 lb of ethiopian and 1/4 lb sumatran from Hawthorne coffee supply.
Not especially cheap and I couldn't get the beans to roast evenly - some dark, some light.

I then found some brazilian at the european market on Hawthorne - $4.5 a pound. They're nothing special but the price is ok and they roasted evenly in the popper.
