Now that is super nice. If he ties it with Bluetooth reader to which you connect your thermocouples and that transmits the data into the app, I am sold!

That is how iGrill works but still to many bugs with that unit to make it worth buying for my smoker. I know this has been in the works with Roastmaster for some time so I imagine most of the bugs will be worked out for it when he releases it.

That might make me pick it up again. I still hate the UI/UX. The graphics get in the way of usability. But if the BT monitoring is easily accomplished, that could change my use and might even make me go back to my popper.

I'd be interested to see what device he's using for the thermocouples.

I am going to email tonight to see if I can get any more info. I have been looking to data log for awhile but waited to see what Diedrich was bringing out, it ends up that I am not interested in their system and they never set it up in my machine so will need to wire up myself. Roastmaster already has all my inventory as well as all the blends I have been working on so it would sure be nice to keep it all in one program. Freeing up my manual entries for temp would allow me to input manually different info such as airflow and gas pressure throughout the roast.

What sort of smoker do you have? I bought a Primo XL ceramic grill/smoker last summer - I love it!

I use a Weber Smokey Mountain and a BBQ Guru DigiQ to control pit temp and monitor food temps, I get lots of sleep on over night cooks, lol. It would still be nice to have iGrill if it functioned proper so I could monitor food temps while sitting with guest instead of guests hanging with me by the smoker while I monitor temps.

Very familiar with those. I have not bought anything yet, but many on the Primo XL Grill Forums as well as others use it. Nice system!

So far, max smoking time for me is about 5 hours on ribs. Natural lump and hickory chucks - yum!

Rob

I'd love to pick your brain about this app.  It's visually appealing but for the life of me cannot figure out how to use it.  The help section is not geared on how to actually use the program - as strange as that may seem.  Lots about the features in the help section but not how to work the app.
