I never owned the GC but was around a bunch of roasts at a friends house. Easy to use, very good control and beter control is easily modded, roasts from it where very good. The only issue he had to fix was the heating element, seems the wire fries. I decided to get the HotTop over the GC when my Behmor went off for a new motor, I only have excellent things to say about the HT and it can easily be modded for bean mass probe.

Yes, I'd rather have a Hottop and I've been looking for a used one for ages. They hardly ever come up as those who have them tend to hang on to them. A Gene Cafe would be very much a second choice but I am interested in roast quality as I don't see it mentioned much.
