just getting into roasting my own and looking for a source of green beans here in Paris. any suggestions and/or recommendations ?
i've considered ordering from a few of the prominent shops in the UK or US but so far the shipping costs i'm seeing on a 10ish pound (5 kg) order are prohibitive, often doubling the shipment costs or worse. it shouldn't cost £45 to ship 5 kg across the channel. anyway, if anyone knows of a good beans supplier with reasonable shipping costs that would be just as welcome.
Antoine gave me my first sample of Thai Doi Chaang green after he'd been to Thailand. He knows how to roast arabica beans, and brew decent espresso, both rare skills in Paris.
Ivo van der Putten in Holland, www.ongebrand.nl , also ships premium greens for home roasters.

I can confirm that Coutume will sell green beans. It's not something they list on their board but I talked to Tom, one of the co-founder/owners, and he was happy to accommodate my request. Good prices too!
