Found some Jamaica Blue Mountain Green Beans on Ebay for a good price. However,
((I don't know the reliability of this company because they have 100% feedback due to customers not being allowed to post less than 100% as an agreement with their ebay acount etc. etc.))
I was hoping someone has heard and bought green beans from this company and can tell me if they are good beans or not
have never roasted jamaica blue due to the price so i hope this good deal
this is a link to ebay so i hope its okay to post this, its not to sell but for educational purposes...

I took a look at the ebay page and they say it's "grade 1", which the SCAA says is "specialty"grade and has no more than 5 defects per 300g. On the ebay page it says you can have a 100% refund if you're not happy with the quality so if you aren't happy you'd have to go thru the hassle of getting the refund but at least you have some numbers to go by. I'd love to hear back from you if you buy it.

I had no idea that was even a possibility... kinda renders the entire feedback system worthless.

i saw that its grade 1 however, no one else is selling it for this price so maybe its an old crop...
im going to call them and ask them some questions and i'll let you know what i discover.
as far as ebay feedback goes ive bought several items there and when i go to leave feedback it wouldn't let me leave less than 5 stars and it told me to work it out with the seller if i didn't want to leave 5 stars, it was a big enough deal for me to work it out and i just felt like they were 4 stars not 5...
I called them a few moments ago asking about the Jamaica blue mountain. They told me that the coffee they sell on eBay they got through liquidation And they could not tell me how old it was but they said it could be up to a year old. I asked them for a closer up picture so I could see if there were any mangled beans and See if th e beans were uniform size they said they could not do that but instead they offer 100% money back guarantee. Upon reading their return policy, which is the beans are shipped Back at the buyers expense...I have decided not to purchase year old beans and possibly Go through the hassle of returning them all to get a few dollars off. Good luck
It seems that they are selling for less than you can buy it when you're actualy Jamaica, so it is either not authentic or it is old stock (maybe more than just one year old).
No, because I only just found out about them (Gold Star) from the above posts Jon..

Yes, I'd assume old past crop. They are in an authentic JBM (Mavis Bank Estate) barrel, but who know if the product inside is genuine or not? I don't think a company would jeopardize their reputation by doing that, but who knows?
I saw the same Mavis Bank Estate type barrel at one of our Coffeegeek sponsors too, Idrinkcoffee about 20 miles west of me., but they don't offer it for sale. {;-)
