So, I have a couple problems with the Turbo Crazy setup I have so far. First, is the arm. During the roast usually every few minutes or so I have the arm being pushed away from the motor. I'm sure it's because it's so light and the bean mass movement is doing that.
Second, I don't like that there's really no airflow of any kind in my unit. But I'm assuming that could be changed by adding an opening in the spring form pan I have.
Lastly, the beans don't rotate enough around. So, I"m wondering if this is starting to be time for me to look into getting another machine.

For the arm: use some pipe thread tape on the drive shaft fitting. That should keep it in place. Also, are you using the copper cap thing? It adds a bit of weight, helps keep the arm in place.
Airflow: As in air flowing out of the device? If your Turbo Oven is in proper working order, there should be plenty of air movement within the chamber, but if you'd like it to flow out, you can try the Woz chaff ejector mod.
Bean movement: As long as they're getting turned over, I wouldn't worry about them completing full revolutions around the pan. If they're not getting enough agitation, attach some barrier strips, hunks of metal, whatever looks like it will work, to the arms.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't use the copper cap thing. I can see where that would help. Forgot about that.
As to airflow, yeah I think the Woz chaff ejector may help here too. Obviously, I couldn't mod the springform pan, so I'd have to have it fabricated.
The Bean movement. I have put barrier strips, etc. However, it doesn't move the beans on the bottom. The beans are small enough to go under some of the beans. And it more pushes some of the beans.
However, I found a Gene Cafe Coffee Roaster used for six months on Craigslist for $200. So, for now it's my backup roaster.
