Posted Sun Oct 21, 2012, 6:58am Subject: Slow P3 or faster P1 for Indonesian Coffees?
I usually use P3 for Indonesians based on general recs/guidelines. Today I roasted 10.7 ozs of SM's Java Sunda Ambet Kasih on 1# P3 A. 1C was at 18:21 and 2C at 21:00. I was aiming for FC to FC+ and probably got the latter. This is a longer roast than is usually considered optimal and this scenario is common when I use P3.
Should I consider using P1? I'm tempted to start using P1 for everything other than decafs.
PS: I use the A profile instead of C as that should shorten roasting times a little.
