One of the concerns is my finished product has an appearance where the cracks in the surface of the bean are more dramatic than any other coffee I have seen. The cracks on both ends are longer and deeper and the bean has expanded more so the line down the middle of the bean is often opened up exposing the center of the bean. I like to drink a FC+, so it isn't really a very dark roast.
Is this a problem and what causes this?
The coffee tastes fine but has room for improvement. I use a iRoast 2 for the job.
The attached picture is a Sumatra varity and shows the extrieme cracks and over expansion of the beans.
