Been awhile since I've posted here, but my CO/SC roaster finally died last night and I'm looking to replace the top. I did a search for info on the new curved glass tops from Sunpentown (SO 2007), but only found questions asked rather than answers given.
So, has anyone tried the "new" tops? My current SO 2000 model puts out 1200 watts and did fine for years, so the 1200 watts doesn't bother me. The curved top would take the place of the springform pan ring - benefit.... I've read that the tops are made from thinner glass... not necessarily good, but then not a deal breaker either. I've been using the CO/SC setup for 10 years now and other than burning through 2 tops (plus breaking one), I've been pretty happy with the setup.
Still not entirely sold on the commercially available roasters yet, seem comparatively pricey. Although, I am considering a bbq setup soon.
Any info would be appreciated!
