Subject: Hottop B2K Auto Profile ?

I have been wondering if anyone knew what the auto profile setup is like. I know that there is a profile listed for in the manual, and there is another in the profiling manual. But I have not been able to find anything on the built in auto profile. Any help would be appreciated.

Interesting question. I work for Hottop, and no one has ever asked that in any forum I can remember. I just sent a msg to Michael to see if he has the data handy. If not, I can document it on my B. But there is a likely reason no one has asked- most of the folks who frequent these forums who get a "B" model do so they can have full control- basically the opposite of what an auto program will do.

Thanks, I do have the B and save and work with my own profiles. I thought for sure they would have had a graph of the profile in the manual and just wanted to make sure I did not miss it.

Well I tried the Auto mode today out of curiosity. All settings at default (no change to max time or temp). Did the PH, dropped the beans in @ 170 deg and this was the profile.
Starting temp 100%  Fan @0%
@2:00 min     Fan @25%
@2:30 min     Fan @0%
@10:00 min   Fan @25%
@13:00 min   Fan @50%

No temp change and beans where ejected @ 428 deg in 13min, 10 sec.

Yeah I just set my the auto to max time 25:00 and temp 435 and work off of that to set up new profiles.  I don't think I ever let it just let it run with out modifying it.

To be facetious: How'd that work for you?

And to be serious, where did you end up? How is/was the end result? What were your times on first and second crack? And I'm going to guess it was a fairly dark roast. Full City Plus?, or more? After a grand total of 3 roasts I have yet to let the machine do its own thing. Too many opinions on too many sites to just let it loose. :^)

428 seems really high. Should be Vienna or so.
For FC+ I'm usually in the high teens, for FC about 406-412.
