I've had my Behmor roaster since its initial release several years ago, but just upgraded to the new chaff collector, and I think the one I received is defective.

It hangs up on the drum every time, for instance; I haven't had a successful roast yet regardless of placement. I lower the fins, push the collector in, and regardless of where I center the thing horizontally, the drum stops within a minute. I'm not sure whether it's hanging on the drum lock or if a low part of the drum is hanging on one of the lower wings.

Also, the top flap simply hangs down vertically; there's no way to adjust it. I can move it up with my finger but it just falls down.

Is there some adjustment I should be making? Possible that it's missing some piece?

Why would you get the new one? Personally I think the old one is preferable if you have it as it keeps more heat in.

Dear half..

While I know people here will often try to assist they'll more often advise you to .... contact tech support. It could be you aren't aligning it properly as that is critical or it could even be as simple as damage in shipping tweaked the base so it's not laying flat... all solvable by Behmor tech support.

Joe

REMINDER: Never leave the roaster unattended when in use !!   And remember to use our Rosetta Stone tip PART V PARAGRAPH 3.. it works !!!

Hi, Ira,

I would do that, except that a certain otherwise wonderful and flawless person did an unscheduled cleaning, saw the new chaff collector and disposed of the old one.

"Why would you buy a new one if not to get rid of the old one?"

Ack.

Joe,

Thanks very much for this, which I should have done in the first place. I've sent a note to support, and I'm sure I'll be fixed up in no time!

David
