Hi-
Hubby and I are seeking the perfect drip coffee maker with built-in timer for "instant" coffee when your feet hit the floor in the morning.

We tried the Capresso TeamLuxe.  BIG disappointment.  The only way to fool the machine for a really strong cup of coffee is to grind the coffee yourself and program 2 cups of coffee less than what you are actually making.  We will be sending it back.

Don't necessarily need grinder and coffeemaker combination, but it is nice (provided the water from brewing doesn't have access to the grinder (Cuisinart).

Hubby likes mega full-bodied coffee (the kind that is prone to upset the stomach).  The Capresso never made that kind of coffee.  Our Cuisinart grinder/brewer won't grind anymore, but still makes a strong pot of coffee.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Consumer reports for different coffee makers are very time-consuming and really don't address the need for at least 1250 wattage for maximum brewing of the grounds.
Thanks.

I went down the same avenue a couple of months ago.  One of the biggest limiters I found for brewing a good quantity of full strength drip coffee was the size of the basket holding the grounds.  If you follow the recommended 2tbs per cup then you can quickly run out of room in most of the smaller machines.

Some of the 10cup machines out there will overflow if you try and put the correct amount of coffee for that number of cups.

The solution that worked best for us was a Krups ProAroma 12cup.  I prefer to make everything fresh as soon as I get up so the $50 non-timer version worked for me.  Perhaps the $80-90 timer version would work for you?
