Hi
this is my first post, and a pic of my first roast.

I just discovered this site a few days ago, and when I found out how easy it is to home roast I was hooked.
I am definately a DIY type person, so the idea of roasting my own beans was very appealing.  I already had a Popcorn Pumper, so I picked up some green beans a gave it a shot.  I roasted about 2 hours ago, so I haven't tasted yet - I'll wait a couple more hours at least - but they look and smell great.

cheers,
Matt.

don't be discouraged by a popcorn-y flavor.  I had that for my first 3 or 4 roasts, and it goes away.  Just don't change between popcorn and coffee.

Congrats on your first roast!  Have fun with it and continue to experiment!

If you are looking for a good local source of green beans, I have heard good stuff about Planet Roasters:  http://www.planetroasters.com

I have a lb of Cuban beans from there that I am looking forward to trying one day.  Holding off though because it is hard to find places willing to ship em down here! LOL

That's were the green beans came from.

Roast #1 - not bad
Roast #2 - not as good - bitter - seemed to roast way faster
Roast #3 - I'll let you know!
