in case anyone is still looking to do this and has a newer rocky, they are simpler and this mod thread is basically moot. All you have to do it take the wire that goes to the motor from the front switch and attach it to the main kill switch where it goes out to the front switch. upon opening up my rocky I almost laughed cause I had gotten out wire and prepared for some re-wiring. not needed anymore.

For those still looking for a solution to the rocker switch issue (e.g. those with less than three hands), 1st-Line Equipment sells a switch expressly for the purpose of modifying the Rocky. The only thing special about this switch is that it's identical to the one on the side.
All you have to do is remove three screws to pull the base off; unplug the connectors from the spade lugs on the old switch; pop out said switch and pop the new one in; plug it in and put the base back on. The only tool needed is a Phillips head screwdriver. I ordered the switch with my new Rocky, and it took me about 10 minutes to accomplish. It affords the flexibility of being able to use either switch to run the grinder, and requires no soldering or rewiring. And if you want to restore it to original, just put the old switch back in.

This might be not directly related but I am trying to put a timer or a switch to my popper-turned-coffee maker.
The problem I have is two-fold,
1 It is loud and smokey (so I was wondering how to solve that, maybe adding a smaller vent fan somewhere, in addition to the one I have?) Where should I wire the fan/filter in the system (attached circuit diagram)
Most importantly, it gets too hot too fast! There is no control. Hence the necessity for a switch, or timer. The switch could be a high-low setting, or the timer could be a 1 minute to 10 minute increment. I looked at some off-the-shelf timers, all I need to know now is how to wire it to the appliance circuit (see diagram attached).
