I get the sense that chimeric beasts tend to be mad from mediocre parts.  I considered a grind a brew system at one time.  I don't remember any particular brands/models but none would produce an acceptable pot of coffee.  I base that on reviews here and feedback on Amazon.  Some use mill grinders which produce unacceptably uneven grinds.  There is one with a burr grinder that doesn't grind enough for a good extraction.

It would be nice to use less counter space but I have yet to see a product that makes drinkable coffee.
