I'm a new member to this website and I am looking for a Melitta Choco Latte.
Melitta Canada states that they do not distribute any electric drip coffee makers in Canada. They suggested I call www.esalton.com. The Salton Customer Service confirmed that the Melitta Choco Latte is available in Canada. They could not, however, give me the the name of a retailer!!!!!!
Are there any Canadian coffee lovers out there that can suggest where I might find this unit?
Williams-Sonoma in the Toronto Eaton Centre has the Capresso version for $299 Canadian. But no sight of the Melitta version.
Help!

P.S. I have learned more about coffee and equipment this past weekend from this website than I ever expected. You people are awesome!

Hi Big Pete,
Let me second Craig's welcome to the coffee geek forum! Us Canadians seem well represented here. I don't know for sure, but if you're look for a Melitta Choco Latte, there is a neat little restaurant supply place on King Street East (near Sherbourne if memory serves). I've been by there before and they've had some very ecclectic blends (no pun intended) of coffee equipment. The name of the place escapes me but it is on the south side just down from that row of hip home decor places approaching George Brown College.
Sorry I can't be more informative, but if you're in that neck of the woods, it might be worth checking out. At worst, there's a few neat places to go down there.

My wife and I purchased a Choco Latte machine directly from Melitta about 4 or 5 years ago. It has worked great and we love it.
However, in the past 6 months or so, the rubber gaskets that seal the water tank into the top of the coffee maker are beginning to leak.
I need two rubber gaskets to repair my beloved Melitta coffee maker / latte machine. I can not get them from Melitta, Salton, Toastmaster or anyone else. The comlete Choco Latte machine is still listed on Amazon.com with a nice picture, features, etc. but it is labeled as discontinued. (Why keep it on the web site if you can't purchase it ? ? ? ? ?)
I found a user's manual online with a phone number for repaires and replacement parts. I spoke to a very nice customer service person who tried to help. They did'nt have a parts manual or schematic to send me to I.D. the part number. so they read me the entire list of available parts. No apparent matches. By the way, their computer indicated that as of 11/11/2005 there were approximately 15,000 of the complete Choco-Latte units in a warehouse in Canada but no apparent way to purchase one.
The whole thing is aggravating. I don't want to give up on a perfectly good coffee maker that has served us so well for the sake of two rubber gaskets. I would even buy a new one.
