Hello everyone, I am new to this group, and trying to figure out how this whole process works. I think I am in the right category. Can someone tell me what the best coffee machine on the market is? I cannot afford, let's say, a machine over $200 at the moment, but there are so many brands on the market, and I would like some expert advice. I presently have a BRAUN 12-cup that is no longer made, and I must say I love it. However, I think it might need to be retired. I dislike the machines with thermal recipients, and want a glass carafe. thank you all.

Check out the review on the Capresso CoffeeTec on this site... it just fits your price range but IS a thermos type. Not sure why you object to this type of container as it's MUCH better suited to maintaining coffee temp and flavor even over a short period of time. Glass pots are much more fragile, sitting on a heating pad produces large variances in the heating of the remaining coffee (small amounts are overheated) and did I mention more fragile... ;-)

I agree with Bella. I have a Capresso MT500 and like it a lot (check out my review). Heck, Mark Prince recommended it to me, and he knows a lot more than I do!

No, I guess I just like the look of the glass carafe. I find the glass more elegant. However, after reading the review for the Capress MT500 (I think), sounds like a good purchase, and with respect to keeping the coffee "fresh", it does make more sense. However, with respect to the Capresso MT500, I did read a post from someone who said it did not keep the coffee hot enough..... that concerns me. So as money is tight right now, I need to make the right choice. Christmas is coming, so that would be the perfect occasion to ask my family for this gift.
I also asked where I could purchase a Capresso machine where I live, which is Montreal, Canada. I did a Google search, but did not come up with anything. Any Canadian members that could help me out? So from south of the border, thanks for any help you can give me! As I am home right now and not working, I am learning a lot from reading posts, and educating myself on the drink I love!

Capresso Coffe TEC for half the price! If you like the Capresso Coffee TEC but are not sure whether it's worth forking out 200 bucks for, be aware that exactly the same coffe maker, produced by the same factory, is available for half that price (I kid you not!) under the name Melitta Choco Latte. The only difference is that the Melitta is not chrome-plated and doesn't have a some electronic gimmicks like the programmable timer and stuff which is the kind of thing that one grows tired of after a couple of days anyway,in my experience. Check it out at

I bought a CoffeeTEC as a factory referb for $119, thanks to a review here. It seems like new, but a lot cheaper than buying it new.
This link here should get you there. If that link doesn't work when you go to their online store choose "Product, Factory Serviced" from the bottom of their search drop down (took me forever to find it!)
I haven't had it long, but so far I like it very much.
