As a daily coffee-maker the old Krups Moka was hard to beat.

I could brew a half pot while I was whipping up a simple breakfast of granola and toast ... and everything came togther at just the right time.  The pot produced great, reliable flavor with a total minimum of fuss.

Alas, it looks like the Moka is no more.  You can only buy the pot in Europe.  Two questions:

-- any idea where one could find one somewhere?  (Googles turn up nothing.)

-- and how about a comparable replacement that will give me that same full-body with a minimum fuss in the morning result??

Cheers

I've been wondering the answers to the same questions.  I arrived too late to the Krups Moka dance, but also wonder if there is a comp to it available.

Apparently it is like a mix between Moka pot and Drip....so maybe look at a nice moka pot? I LOVE moka coffee.

At least one ad I've seen for the Delonghi EMK6 Electric Moka Espresso pot claimed that it "won hands down" when compared with the KMB. I've never tried it. I do know though that it only makes about 9 ounces of coffee, which would not replace my KMB, which brews 40 ounces at a time. When I heard the KMB was being discontinued, I bought a spare, and an extra carafe.

Huh ...

I've seen the Delonghi in stores but didn't know.  9 oz might me enough for a morning cup or two.

I have a friend going to Europe in the next month.  The Moka is still available there and we were thinking about getting one together with a converter.

LOL

Well, good news for sure.  It makes a great cup of coffee.

At $130, a tad pricey for some, but mine has stood up well for years now.
