My 3 cup bonjour's screen lets too much junk through. Are there any other specific kinds of 3-5 cup presses that don't have this problem? All the other ones I see seem to have the same screening apparatus. It's not so much the screen but that it doesn't come flush against the inner wall of the press.

While I have not used a BonJour I do know from experience that the Bodum presses are really nice. A Nylon Fine Sediment filter screen can also be added for further filtration. Sweet Maria's among many vendors have the Bodum presses and the additional screen.
In fact my newest Bodum should arrive today (the four cup Chambord). The Nylon Screen should fit this press very nicely, with my Bodums though I have not felt the need for additional filtering. I have four Bodums (different sizes and one I loaned out) and they all have been top notch. Highly recommended!

Ah, I see from the photos that my screen isn't of the same quality, as the edges of the ones pictured are nicely cinched. Guess I should have gotten a bodum.

How much is too much? FPs will allow some sediment through to settle in the bottom of your cup. I have a Bonjour 3-cupper and while it lets some grinds through it doesnt bother me and makes an outstanding cup of coffee. I dont drink the last few sips. Maybe your Bonjour has become defective.

I just got a Bodum Chamboard 3-cupper that Amazon had on sale. Very nice, very solid construction and good fit. The glass retains the heat better than other non-breakable materials. I like it.

I also recently bought a Chambord from Amazon, but the 12 cupper. It's quite big, and I just made some coffee in it - awesome stuff. Amazon has great deals on the Bodums right now, even the newer models that are black plastic rather than metal. Just make sure you get one that'll make the amount you normally drink, since each "cup" is only approximately 4 oz.
