I bought one of the newer Gaggia baby models on eBay a few months ago and have been enjoying delicious drinks ever since until this morning. I made a shot the same way I always do. It tasted a little sour. I chalked it up to using left-over beans I'd ground a few days ago, ground some new ones, and when I tried to make the shot, the button didn't go all the way in! Water still comes out, but something must be wrong if the button doesn't click in like it's supposed to, right?

Any help?

If you're talking about the power button not going all the way in, that may not be an issue at all. All the button does is activate the pump. If the pump was running then you should look elsewhere.

Have you cleaned it since buying it? Like removing the shower screen (Philips head), then removing the dispersion disc under that (5mm screws) and soaking those parts along with the portafilter/baskets in a cleaning solution...... I like JoeGlo detergent. It wouldn't be a bad idea to descale it also, though that wouldn't affect the taste much, unless there is a fair amount of scale and that could also limit the water flow.

You should also clean your grinder often. I strip mine down and vacuum/wipe it thoroughly every 1-2 lbs. of beans. Good Luck!
