All,

I just got my Newco OCS 12 and am very happy with it.  the filter look like standard "Mr. Coffee" style filters that i can get anywhere.   but i thought i read elsewhere here that they are non-standard.

Are they non-standard?   if so, where can one get filters?

I just ordered the OCS-12, so I checked it out.  Newco tells me their filter basket is the same size for the OCS-8 and the OCS-12, and accordingly they have only one size filter.  Their part number for their filters is 111076, but customer service tells me they have no size info about it.  However, JoAnn Nemetz told me the manufacturer is Altra, which appears to be the same as Altra/Rockline, and in turn Rockline, and on the Rockline web site there is a download of a spec sheet that says the correct filter for an OCS-8 (they don't list one for an OCS-12, which is consistent with there not being a different filter) is a 55-01B, which is indicated as being a 9" x 2.75" filter.

Perhaps a silly question but searching the forum doesn't seem to yield a result.

Based on the sizes there doesn't appear to be a Swissgold filter that would fit that dimension.  All of them would end up being too short by 3 - 4"?

But those posts appear to all reference paper filters, not permanent filters.  The closest match I can see is the KF-10 but it's not exact.  Am I missing something in your posts?

So from what I've been able to garner you can use the KF-10 or the #4, but either way it's not a precise fit.  Not tall enough, so you won't be able to brew more than ... 8 cups or so?

Thanks very much.  Coffee has been a big hobby of mine second only to arcade building, which you'll see in my homepage profile.  ;)

Oh and it should be interesting to see how my OCS-12 purchase works out.  As I'm in Canada, Joann put me in touch with BBC sales in BC, but the rep I talked to seemed a bit hesitant when I mentioned the GCBC discount.  I'll give it a few days and see how it pans out.
