Thank you! Just so you know, I didn't pour a full bottle of vodka through my machine. (What a waste of a drink!) Just wet a cloth with vodka and wipe down all surfaces, then rinse. Easy!

I wouldn't recommend this. The UV light certainly would accelerate the breakdown of the plastic and might make it outgas more quickly, but this is not necessarily stuff that you want to be drinking, so it doesn't seem wise to accelerate the process. This may be overly cautious, but I doubt anyone really knows since indoor appliances are certainly not tested for such conditions.

I own a simonelli Oscar which is 2 years old . My coffee made just this morning has a horrible plastic like strong taste. Is something going in the machine? Thanks? CJ
