A friend of mine purchased this unit, the pause and brew leaked when the carafe was removed and the unit leaked bad through the filter side while brewing 8 cups, water and coffee grinds every where.
*update*
She returned the original unit and received a replacement, the "Pause & Brew" is working without leaking, have not tried to brew 8 or more cups to check for leakage, I did brew 4 cups and noticed dry grounds in the filter basket after the brewing cycle, of course the coffee was noticeably weak.
Day 2: Brewed 8 cups and the new unit does not leak from the filter basket, the unit also did significantly better covering the grounds, and the brew temps seem right.
It's no Technivorm but all in all not bad for a $80 investment
