I've been using the stainless steel filter and have very little sediment. I pour into a thermos/carafe after brewing and there is just a smidgeon of sediment showing after brewing. I only let the brew settle for 30 sec to a minute while I empty the thermos pre-heat. I don't usually drink the bottom of the thermos but of the few times, I have not noticed any sediment or grittiness. Still not as good as the cloth but somewhat easier to clean.
