This is the key, in my opinion - if we think about how much people pay for consistent espresso equipment ~500 is pocket change. Being able to brew a reliably delicious cup of coffee and not sinking or tolerating mediocrity every other cup... that'd be worth it to me.
I think you will be thrilled at the cup you can create with this machine. You get to dial in the cup that you like based on the coffee that you love. The nuances this machine unlocks in single origin coffee are really very cool. I can't wait to hear what you think. Please be sure to introduce yourself at the event. I'll either be in the trifecta lab or the BUNN booth.

Lisa, I have a Bunn STX here at home, so I'm NOT unfamiliar with Bunn products. I read Kevin Sinnot's review, but nowhere in it was a description of the cups clarity (lack of fines at the bottom of the cup.) As there is a fine mesh filter, how will the bottom of the cup look compared to say, the Sowden Soft Brew, or my Yama vac pot?
This would be assuming i dial in the proper grind for the Trifecta, as recommended by Bunn?

The Full Cup produced by the trifecta MB has fines similar to that of drip coffee that is brewed with a permanent mesh filter. It has less fines than a french press, but wonderful mouthfeel. It would be similar to a vac pot when a mesh filter is used. Hope this helps.

Looking forward to the lab and meeting you too - are all the Trifecta lab slots taken? There were plenty when I signed up but when I checked the evite link today the Trifecta slots do not show up on the web page any longer.
I chew coffee beans with my teeth while gargling with 195 F water to enjoy coffee. What is this "coffee brewing" device you speak of?

Lisa: Will you have a Trifecta in operation at your tables on the main floor? That would be really cool, since your sessions are totally booked and a lot of people missing the sessions would love to see one in action.
(Or two, or three, or four, or . . .) ;-D
I've enjoyed a few cups from the Trifecta in Kevin's kitchen. I am seriously coveting this thing. As an Aeropress geek, I'm delighted with how your machine "screen-shots" one way of using an Aeropress (among many) -- or, for that matter, betters a Clover (IMHO) and allows for control of agitation while delivering consistency (repeatability, better stated) on the remaining brewing variables.
It's a solid machine, to be sure, and though I doubt I'll make a session I look forward to meeting you and gauging the response of show attendees.

We are not planning to have a trifecta MB in operation at the main booth :(. Are you on the wait list for the brewing labs? They have one and I'd recommend getting on the list. Also, stop by to see me and I'll see what I can do. It's going to be an exciting day....can't wait!

Lisa,
I remember looking at the commercial Trifecta brewers and wondering, "what if?"
It doesn't look like I have to wonder anymore. Once these are introduced at CoffeeCon 2012, how long will it be before we start seeing them available to buy either locally or online? and does anyone have any idea what this unit is likely to street price for?
My wife plans to sign me up for the first season of Coffee Gadget Hoarders.

Hmmmm.....I might know something about that :) Check out BunnAtHome.com tomorrow or Saturday. Word on the street is that trifecta MB will sell for $499.
