not the whole time. i'm sure it turns off and on (just like an espresso machine) when needed. it has to have some sort of temperature sensor.

That is what I am curious to find out. What is the temperature of the water when the heater turns itself back on. And at what temperature does the heater turn itself back off again. And after the heater does turn off, how much higher does the temperature of the water in the boiler continue to climb.

That's okay. Hey, Jeff! How does the best shot from your mypressi compare with what you're pulling from your Mini Vivaldi? Enquiring minds want to know! :)

We're getting a bit off topic here.
as far as water temperature for those 6 hours, I can testify that water in my Bunn STX suffers naught after 12 hours in the temp controlled tank at 200f. In fact, the thermostat is 'sort of' performing as would a PID. i've measured my water temperature after 14 non brewing hours...199.4.. Close enough. I must imagine the Trifecta would be as good, if not more elegant.
Lets move on. Perhaps those other than Eric who have sampled the coffee at the varying brewing parameters? Thanks Eric for your report.

I know the mod said time to move on, but I will quote from the manual which spells it out:
• After 6 hours idle, the heater inside the Stainless Steel Hot Water Tank drops to 140°F to conserve energy. The Brew Button will change from a bright blue to a dim blue light. To exit energy saver/ sleep mode, press the Brew Button or lift the Latch. The Brew Button light will flash and the heater will begin heating. It takes about 1 minute to get back to the optimal brewing temperature of 200°F.
• After 26 hours idle, the heater inside the Stainless Steel Hot Water Tank will turn off for sleep mode and the Brew Button will glow dimly. To exit energy saver/ sleep mode, press the Brew Button or lift the Latch. The Brew Button light will flash and the heater will begin heating. It takes about 2 minutes to get back to the optimal brewing temperature of 200°F.

how is talking about the temperature of the machine in question getting off topic? telling us to "move on" seems a bit rude when people have legitimate questions about how it works.

It's not rude to ask that we move on from personal asides and speculation without actually asking a question. Speculation serves no real purpose to this discussion. Why not ask the OP these questions? I'm sure she will be most happy to explain the water temperature consistency.
