It's not rude to ask that we move on from personal asides and speculation without actually asking a question. Speculation serves no real purpose to this discussion. Why not ask the OP these questions? I'm sure she will be most happy to explain the water temperature consistency.
nothing i posted was speculation. it's common knowledge.
BTW, i believe eric (the OP) is a he.
"You can write down how to make the perfect cup of coffee. But to make it really good, you have to play something fictional, you have to dress up, you have to think, This is the most important thing."
Well I tried to hold out until I could hear a bit more feedback from CoffeeCon attendees, but I cracked. :) my order is placed, so all that's left is waiting for the postman.
NUTS! but not alone. Hey if we get enough others to buy the nuts, become the sane. I mean seriously, how can any of you be resisting??? Give in to temptation.... Ya know ya wanna.
My wife plans to sign me up for the first season of Coffee Gadget Hoarders.

Oh, I definitely want one. I would love to see it in action and taste the results first though. I would hate to find out that my Clever Coffee Dripper makes a cup that is just as good.
I will wait a bit for more feedback from you "1st responders!"

I don't believe you're nuts at all! Considering $600 gets you at best, a C+ espresso machine, you're getting (from all we've read, and you've tasted so far), an A to A+ brewer, unique in it's design.
For the many (including myself) who love a beautifully brewed cuppa Joe without firing up the espresso machine to make an Americano (which will produce a drink of different dimension) owning a Trifecta, or any superior brewing system for that matter would seem reasonable....at least to me. YMMV After all, most here aspire to coffee Nirvana, and Mr. Coffee ain't gonna get ya there.
I most sincerely urge all who purchase a Trifecta, or any future device that accomplishes what used to be only "semi-consistent" results, to enjoy your new baby with clear conscience, same as you've done after purchasing a primo grinder and espresso gear.

Can someone explain how the Trifecta manages to produce a properly extracted cup in under one minute with Bunn's recommended course grind, when vacuum pots can take 2:30+ with a fine grind?
