Just stumbled across a video of this Korean dripper with a very interesting design. Can't seem to find any info on it. Anyone care to hypothesize on the purpose of the "bump" in the middle of the dripper?
This is exactly why i hate the internet - as soon as we figure out how to pour water through coffee someone comes out with something like this...
seriously though, neat find - I wonder what the donut shaped grounds area in the filter holder brings to the cup? If I could see the hole pattern I could mod a filter to mimic this one and find the answer.
I chew coffee beans with my teeth while gargling with 195 F water to enjoy coffee. What is this "coffee brewing" device you speak of?
I've been close to buying this dripper, but i chickened out at the last moment due to a lack of reviews.
A korean seller used to have them on ebay for about 40$ with shipping from korea included, i've contacted him, and he's apparently willing to sell some again. I think i'm going to pull the trigger this time.
I've found a couple of images and instructions online, it has 4 tiny holes around the edge, seems like a well thought design, but no real way of knowing without trying it, i guess.

Seems to me like the suggest using Hario V60 type cone paper filters.

No, sorry, i don't read korean at all, i'm totally clueless about the reasoning behind that design, but taking a wild guess i'd say that the bump in the middle minimizes the issue of water channeling trough the sides, a common issue with most drippers. I'll give it a try, but without a refractometer and proper english instructions, i don't think my review would prove much.
The ebay seller i was talking about has this dripper in stock again , and i think he does ship to Germany.
I'll review it when i get it, it's already on its way. Still unsure about it but someone had to take the first step, and i figure that if i can brew properly with it, it would still be a beautiful citrus juicer :)

After seeing the original post, I was interested and had asked my parents who happened to be traveling in Seoul, South Korea to pick one up for me. They first tried placing an online order (at cntmart.com) and have it delivered to a local address in Seoul but were told they were not in stock. They then attempted to visit Cuveda's local address obtained from cuveda.com, and were told the same. Out of stock, weird. This dripper seems to be one of very few items they produce and they didn't have any in inventory. Is it that new? I wonder if the ebay seller selling these is tied to the company directly? I wonder where he/she gets their inventory from? It would be nice to buy locally there to save on shipping and the markup by the ebay seller but seems impossible to get right now.
I'd be curious to hear your opinions of this thing, Daniel. So, it seems it uses a cloth filter thats included? Also, can use V60 paper filters too?
